Current Calls from CFAT:
Atlantic Women’s Screening
SUBMISSIONS DUE: February 1st, 2018 at Midnight
The Centre for Art Tapes invites self-identifying women and femmes to submit video work for a screening of Atlantic Women’s video art from 1980-2017.
Selected works will be screened by Video Pool’s series: Isolated Landscapes: a collection of work by women from the prairies from 1984-2009. We define the Atlantic region as New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland and are looking for anything made between 1980 and 2017. Artists at any stages of their careers are welcomed to apply or submit work on behalf of artists who have passed away during that time.
Works will be selected by the Centre for Art Tapes Programming Committee with the aim of representing a large selection of styles, eras and geographical locations, and highlighting experimental film and video through its evolution to contemporary and emergent works. All exhibiting artists will be paid CARFAC screening fees.
The screening will take place on Thursday, March 8th 2018 at the St. Georges Parish hall on Maitland St.
To apply please submit:
- A short description of the work (250 words or less)
- A link to a screener copy of the piece.
- An still or image to be used for promotional purposes.
- Artist CV or resume
Proposals must be submitted electronically. Please email submissions to Tori Fleming, Programming Director at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Atlantic Women’s Screening Submission”. Applicants will be notified by February 14th.
