CFAT Call For Submissions: RE:Members Screening

Deadline: Thursday, July 28th 2016 at Midnight

The Centre for Art Tapes is delighted to announce a call for submissions for our upcoming members-only screening entitled RE:Member. The screening will consider what it means to be a member, what it means to be a part of a community, a fragment of a larger structure, an insider or outsider. How does your sense of belonging affect your practice?

The RE:Member screening will celebrate the wide diversity of new work(s) produced by our members over the past 5 years. RE:Member will be curated by the Centre for Art Tapes’ Programming Committee based on the quality, originality and thematic content of the submission(s).

The screening will take place on August 25th, 2016 at Paul O’Regan Hall in the Halifax Central Library. Works must be no longer then 15 minutes in length. As screening location can only support single channel video works or audio pieces, installations will not be accepted. Artists will be paid in accordance with the 2016 IMAA (Independent Media Art Alliance) fee schedule.

To apply you must be a CFAT member in good standing, non-members are free to purchase a membership prior to submitting their application.

To apply please submit:

  • A clear and concise description of project.
  • A link to a screener copy of the piece.
  • An still or image to be used for promotional purposes.
  • Artist CV
  • Artist statement (maximum 250 words)

Proposals must be submitted electronically. Please email submissions to Tori Fleming, Programming Coordinator at tori@cfat.ca with the subject line “RE:Members Screening Submission”.
